Overview:

This safari offers an experience of its kind. Visit a children orphanage, spend the day with the kids, cook and eat with them. Attend a local church service on Sunday. Enjoy a wildlife safari visiting two of the best parks in Kenya. Masai Mara which is well known for abundant wildlife throughout the year. During the months of July – October the world’s wonder of Wildebeest migration takes place every year. It also visits Lake Naivasha a fresh water lake where you take a boat ride to view the Hippos.
On the floor of the Great Rift Valley, surrounded by wooded and bushy grassland, lies the beautiful Lake Nakuru National Park. Visitors can enjoy the wide ecological diversity and varied habitats that range from Lake Nakuru itself to the surrounding escarpment and picturesque ridges. Lake Nakuru National Park is ideal for bird watching, hiking, picnic and game drives.

Itinerary:

Day 1 - Friday: Arrival Nairobi

Arrive JKIA at 1025hrs. You will be met by our representative and transferred to you hotel. Refresh and enjoy lunch. Afternoon we visit Giraffe Centre. The Giraffe Centre is currently home to seven female and three male. Six were born at the Centre, while four were translocated from different parks and nature conservancies across Kenya. Dinner and overnight at Panari Hotel Nairobi.

Day 2 – Saturday: Nairobi – Nyahururu (Approximately 3.5hrs) :

Breakfast at the hotel. Proceed south of Nairobi to Amboseli. The scenery on this drive is predominantly of open wide spaces characterized by a sparse settlement system mainly along the road. You would be interested to know that this was the first National Park established in Kenya. You arrive at the camp in time for lunch. The early afternoon is spent at leisure within the camp premises and in the evening you depart for a game drive till dusk. Dinner and overnight at lodge/camp.

Day 3 – Sunday: Sunday Service.

Early breakfast at the hotel. Depart for the Equator to take pictures and view Mount Kenya. Proceed for a Sunday Service at a local church. Lunch with the locals which includes traditional food. Free afternoon to mingle with the locals visiting their homes to learn their way of living. In the evening transfer to your hotel. Dinner and overnight at Panari Hotel Nyahururu.

Day 4 – Monday: Nyahururu – Lake Nakuru (Approximately 2hrs) :

Breakfast at the hotel. Depart for Lake Nakuru National Park. A stop is provided on the way to enjoy the scenery viewing the Great Rift Valley below. Arrive in time for lunch. Enjoy an afternoon game drive. This shallow Soda Lake has been famous for its flamingos but has also retained its reputation as an ornithologists’ delight with more than 400 species of bird found here. You may get out of the vehicle at the lake shore to get a closer look at the birds. The nearby cliffs offer sightings of baboons, birds of prey and scurrying hyraxes, as well as great views of the park. The national park covers 180 sq km and is home to warthogs, waterbuck, buffaloes, reedbucks, and the occasional leopard as well as white and black rhinos which were introduced to the park some years ago. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 5 – Tuesday: Lake Nakuru – Lake Naivasha (Approximately 1.5hrs) :

Early morning game drive. Breakfast at the lodge. Depart for Lake Naivasha. Lunch at the hotel. Afternoon proceed for a boat ride in this fresh water lake to view the hippos. This is a beautiful freshwater lake, fringed by thick papyrus is almost 13 km's across, but its waters are shallow with an average depth of five metres. The waters of the lake draw a great range of game to these shores. Visit to crescent Island or Hell’s gate national park at an extra cost. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 6 – Wednesday: Lake Naivasha – Masai Mara (Approximately 3.5hrs) :

Breakfast at the Hotel. Depart Nairobi for a journey along the floor of the great rift valley then past Narok climb the western wall entering Hemingway’s country ‘’Serengeti plans’’ Arrive Mara in time for lunch. Afternoon enjoy a game drive in this famous reserve. Dinner and overnight at the Camp.

Day 7 - Thursday: Masai Mara

Early morning balloon safari is available as an option at USD 450 per person. The Balloon launches at 0600hrs and takes one hour. On landing you will be welcomed with a champagne bush breakfast. Full day game viewing whereby you leave the camp after breakfast with picnic lunch. The Mara is the land of African legend: Lion are abundant throughout the park, as are the elephants, giraffes, and a variety of gazelle species and zebra. Cheetah and leopard are also regularly seen and, less commonly, rhino. The annual wildebeest migration, one of nature’s few remaining wildlife spectacles, occurs in the Mara from July to September where the big animals and their predators are to be present in abundance during the time frame of this trip. Several species of Bee-Eater, the flying rainbow that heads the list of the Mara’s birds, occur in the reserve. As well as wildlife, the Maasai Mara is also home to many members of the colorful Maasai tribe who may be seen around the borders of the park – Morans (warriors) loping across the plains, young boys herding goats, or elders grouped under a tree discussing matters of the day. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge.

Day 8 – Friday: Mara - Nairobi – Departure (Approximately 5hrs) :

Early morning game drive. Return to the camp for breakfast. Depart for Nairobi. A stopover is provided at Narok Town to browse in the bustling, vibrant Masai markets to buy curios and handicrafts. Lunch enroute. You will stop at the Great Rift Valley view point. On arrival you will have a day room to refresh. Dinner at the famous Carnivore Restaurant. Drop off at the airport for onward flight departing at 2255 hrs.
